Troy King

Meet Troy King – A Proven Fighter for Justice

Troy King was born and raised in the small, south Alabama town of Elba. For 30 years, Troy has
represented hundreds of families against some of the biggest companies of the world. First as
general counsel to Alabama Governor, Fob James, later to Governor Bob Riley and finally as
Attorney General of Alabama for 6 years.

Troy attended Troy University, graduating summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree. He then
attended the University of Alabama School of Law.

Soon after taking office, Troy discovered that many of the world’s biggest drug companies were stealing from Medicaid and hurting the most defenseless and vulnerable Alabamians: Kids.

Seniors. Troy wasn’t afraid of them. He sued them and made them pay. Millions of dollars were
returned to Medicaid.
Then, when BP polluted the Gulf, once again, Troy stepped up. At his direction, Alabama was the first state to sue them, sending a clear message that no matter how big you are, no matter how rich you are, no matter how powerful you are, you are never too big to be held responsible. Ultimately, BP paid millions of dollars to those they hurt.

During his tenure as Attorney General, he drafted and passed landmark legislation, including the nation’s toughest sex offender law. Driven to protect those who depend on him, Troy will be
remembered for convicting Alabama’s worst mass murderer and imposing the longest sentence in state history on a child pornographer. A father of three, Troy explained, "Our children are our most precious resource."

These actions proved that, to Troy, his was not a job, it was a calling. "I always heard the cries of those no one else listened for and counted it a privilege to fight for them. Nothing tells you more about a society than the way they treat their vulnerable citizens. I was proud to always treat them as my most important priorities."

Actions like these gave Troy a well-earned reputation as a tough, fearless, and fierce leader.
Since leaving office in 2011, Troy has continued the fight at the law firm he founded in
Montgomery, Alabama. Today, Troy remains a fierce advocate for those who have been taken
advantage of. As Troy likes to say, “At the Law Offices of Troy King, we are still protecting you. And that’s more than just a slogan. It’s a promise. It’s personal.”
